Who We Serve
Lara Traum, the founder of PeaceChord, is a mediator, attorney, and educator with extensive experience in conflict prevention, mediation, collaborative law practice, facilitation, and conflict resolution. Lara is a partner at Roytberg Traum Law and Mediation P.C., where she works with individuals and families to resolve disputes through mediation, negotiation, and collaboration. Lara’s work spans various practice areas, including divorce, family law, estate planning, and complex international disputes, with expertise in cross-cultural mediation and preventive legal strategies.
Lara is a dynamic and respected speaker, trainer, facilitator, and author. An active member and immediate past President of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, Lara is deeply committed to the advancement of collaborative and peaceful dispute resolution practices.
Lara additionally serves as an officer on the Board of the Zamir Choral Foundation and is a director on the Board of COJECO (Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations).
In addition to her legal and mediation work, Lara integrates her background in music and music education into her programs, using music as a tool for enhancing collaboration and resolving conflict. Through PeaceChord, she conducts training, workshops, and facilitation services to help individuals and organizations navigate conflict, strengthen teamwork, and foster positive change.
Lara holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, a B.A from New York University. Lara is fluent in English and Russian.
